Berenstain Bear Country
1985-1998
Berenstain Bear Country was located on the Main Midway between the Coliseum Arcade and Pagoda Gift Shop.
Berenstain Bear Country replaced the Earthquake dark ride that opened in 1965 and closed in 1984.
The Berenstain Bears were created in 1962 by Stan and Jan Berenstain. Over the following decades, they would become wildly popular.
The Berenstain Bears were first introduced to Cedar Point guests in 1983. The park had a meet and greet area that was set up in Kiddieland where park guests could meet the bear family. |
The outdoor portion of Berenstain Bear Country replaced the Sky Slide and Cedar Classic Minature Golf.
Berenstain Bear Country had a train running around the perimeter of the outside area. This train made the area closed off to where guests would only have two entrances to the area. To experience Bear Country, guests would have to enter by the train station or enter the inside portion by the Main Midway.
After adding Berenstain Bear Country for the 1985 season, Cedar Point would add more attractions including: Thunder Canyon (1986), Iron Dragon (1987), Soak City Water Park (1988-2016), Magnum XL-200 (1989), Disaster Transport (1990-2012), Mean Streak (1991-2016), Challenge Park (1992-2016), Snake River Falls (1993-2024), Kiddy Kingdom (1993), Raptor (1994), Cedar Point’s 125th Anniversary Celebration (1995), RipCord (1996-2016), Mantis (1996-2014), Chaos (1997-2011), Swan Boats (1997-2003), and Power Tower (1998). All of these new additions gave the entire family something new to look forward to!

In 1999 the inside portion was transformed into Snoopy Boutique, a gift shop that featured Peantus merchandise.
In 2022 Snoopy Boutique was remolded and it became Peanuts @ The Point!
