On Friday, November 13, 1998, Cedar Point announced that Camp Snoopy would open for the 1999 season. The new kids’ area would feature seven rides, a food stand, a new outdoor theater, and a new roller coaster.
The area would be themed around the Peanuts franchise. |

The Camp Bus ride experience begins when guests join the line for the attraction.

The line for Camp Bus is located just to the left of the ride.
|
|

The line for Camp Bus is usually short, around 5 minutes. During busy times, the wait can extend to 10–15 minutes.
|

|
|
|
|
|
Riders are seated in one of six rows on the bus, with each row accommodating four riders. They are secured with a lap bar, and each row has a locking door at the end.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Camp Bus begins by slowly lifting riders in a clockwise circle. Riders face forward as the bus rises.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Camp Bus lifts riders 23 feet into the air, offering a great view of Camp Snoopy and the surrounding lagoons.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The ride then lowers riders back down, with riders facing backward as they descend.
|
|
|

As the ride continues, it gradually picks up speed, accelerating until it reaches its maximum.

A Great Ride For Cedar Point!

Camp Bus was an exciting addition when it opened at Cedar Point in 1999. It was one of the first rides in nearly 20 years designed for the whole family to enjoy together.

Camp Bus is a great stepping-stone ride. It is more exciting than the rides in Kiddy Kingdom, but less intense than attractions like Monster and Lake Erie Eagles.

Riders love Camp Bus, and over the years it has remained a popular attraction for families.

Cedar Point isn’t the first or only park to have a Camp Bus. The first one opened at Knott’s Berry Farm in 1992. When Cedar Fair purchased the park in 1997, they decided to bring Camp Snoopy to other Cedar Fair parks.

Riders must be at least 36 inches tall to ride Camp Bus alone. Guests under 36 inches tall may ride with a supervising companion. Hand-held infants are not permitted on this ride.
