Lolli Swing opened in 1999 in Cedar Point’s Camp Snoopy. When it debuted, the ride did not match the Peanuts theme of the area.
In 2000, Dorney Park introduced their version of the Lolli Swing as Charlie Brown’s Wind-Up. In 2001, Charlie Brown’s Wind-Up was also added to Worlds of Fun. These rides were mechanically the same, but the Charlie Brown theme better fit the Peanuts-themed areas. In 2010, Kings Island and Carowinds opened Planet Snoopy, and the retheming of existing rides there proved to be very successful. In 2011, ValleyFair opened their version of Charlie Brown’s Wind-Up. Finally, in 2014, Cedar Point rethemed Lolli Swing as Charlie Brown’s Wind-Up.
Knott’s Berry Farm introduced a differently themed ride in 2014.
