Cedar Point's first ride opened in 1892 Today, Cedar Point is home to 68 rides. Cedar Point has more rides then any other Amusement Park in the world!

4x4's

​4x4's is an electric truck ride. Kids can drive the cars around on a course that goes around some beautiful landscaping. This is the newest ride that is currently in Kiddy Kingdom.

​Avalanche Run opened at Cedar Point in 1985. Avalanche Run was Cedar Point's Bobsled Roller Coaster. It was also the tallest Bobsled roller coaster in the world when it opened. Riders would race thru the rides trough as they make their way thru the ride. Avalanche Run was considered boring by many of its riders. The ride would be converted into Disaster Transport in 1990.

As the ride aged the theming broke and was not fixed. Disaster Transport was a cool ride, but it didn't always click with the people who rode it. It was often considered one of the worst rides ever built. It was removed in the 2012 season and was replaced with GateKeeper.

Magnum XL-200 opened in 1989 as the world's first Hyper Coaster. Magnum Xl-200 takes riders up 205 feet where they drop 195 feet as they reach speeds of 72 MPH!  Magnum XL-200 features 10 hills. 

Magnum XL-200 defined what a Hyper Coaster was. It is a really fun ride that launched what was known as the roller coaster wars!

Mantis was Cedar Point's Stand Up Roller Coaster. Mantis was 145 feet tall and reached speeds of 60 MPH. Riders would be flipped upside down 4 times. Mantis was the tallest and fastest Stand Up roller coaster when it opened. 

​In 1996 Mantis was an ok ride. As time went on the ride would get a bad reputation for being very uncomfortable. The ride was closed in 2014 and was converted into Rougarou.

Maverick

Maverick stays close to the ground. Riders twist and turn thru canyon at speeds of 70 MPH. Maverick flips riders upside down twice. Maverick is known as one of the best roller coasters in the world.

Mean Streak opened in 1991 as the world's tallest and fastest Wooden Roller Coaster. Mean Streak took riders up 161 feet. Riders would drop 155 feet, reaching speeds of 66 MPH. Mean Streak had an outback around where the ride would go around 3 times. Mean Streak would go over and under itself many times. 

Mean Streak would be known as one of the roughest and most boring roller coaster around. The ride closed in 2016 and was converted into Steel Vengeance. ​

Midway Carousel

Midway Carousel was built in the year 1912, making it over 100 years old! The Midway Carousel was moved to Cedar Point in 1946 near the current site of Raptor Plaza. Midway Carousel is Cedar Point's oldest ride and has been at Cedar Point longer then any other ride in Cedar Point history!

Millennium Force is often considered one of the best roller coasters in the world.

Peanuts 500

Raptor is built on Cedar Point's historic Main Midway. It was the first project in over 30 years to change the look of the Main Midway. Raptor still rules the sky this very day!

Space Spiral took riders up and above the vast Cedar Point peninsula. It gave views of Cedar Point, lake Erie, Lake Erie Islands, and the city of Sandusky. When it was built in 1965, it was the first ride to be over 300 feet. Space Spiral was Cedar Point's first record-breaking ride.  The ride closed quietly on August 13, 2012.  ​

Splash Zone opened in 2004 in Soak City. Splash Zone was a kids play area. It was re-themed for the 2017 season to fit in with the new theme of Cedar Point Shores Water Park.

Speed Slides opened in 1988 at Soak City. Speed Slides were the original racing Slides in the water park. They were removed at the end of 2011 to make room for Dragster H20 (later Riptide Raceway).

SlasH20

Type: Play Structure

SplasH20 is a giant play structure. Guests get to play on several slides. This area is geared towards families and has a giant tipping bucket.

Steel Vengeance

Type: hyper-hybrid roller coaster

​Steel Vengeance opened in 2018 as the world's tallest, fastest, steepest, and longest Hybrid Roller Coaster ever built. Steel Vengeance takes riders up 205 feet to drop them 200 feet at a 90 degree angle. The ride takes riders upside down an amazing 4 times. Steel Vengeance is considered one of the best roller coasters ever built.

Storm Surge is the park's classic family-friendly raft ride. It is a fun ride that is really enjoyable!

Super Coaster was a kids coaster that was located in Kiddieland. It was removed to make way for newer kids rides.

Swan Boats

Located in Frontier Town, Swan Boats was a small family ride that riders were able to control their experience by pedaling around in a small pound. In 2004 the ride was relocated to Michigan's Adventure. In 2007 the ride site was used again for Maverick.

Switchback Railway

​Type: switchback

​Switchback Railway was Cedar Point's first roller coaster. The ride used no electrical at all. Once the train got to the end of the ride it had to be manually pushed back to the top. 

Switchback Railway was 25 feet tall and reached speeds of 12 MPH.

Tadpole Town opened as Soak City's first kids area in 1990. The area featured simple small slides and spray things for kids. In 2017 it was re-themed as part of the new Cedar Point Shores Waterpark. 

The Sandlot

The Sandlot is a relaxing area where guests can hang out and play volleyball!

Three-Way Figure Eight Roller Toboggan

Three-way Figure Eight Roller Toboggan was a small roller coaster that was located on the Cedar Point beach. The ride was 46 feet tall and took riders on a ride that featured a figure 8 style layout.

Thunder Canyon

Thunder Canyon is an Intamin river raft ride located on Frontier Trail. Opening in 1986, Thunder Canyon is Cedar Point's oldest existing water ride. Thunder Canyon takes riders thru a canyons and under waterfalls. Thunder Canyon is a very fun ride. This ride simulates what is is like to go river rafting!

In 1970 Cedar Point transformed the original Calypso into Tiki Twirl. The ride was located at the end of the Main Midway. The ride spun around on a tilted platform. The ride closed in 1984 to make room for Matterhorn.

Tilt-A-Whirl was added to Cedar Point in 1999 to the new Camp Snoopy section of the park. The ride was a classic Tilt-A-Whirl ride. After 19 years of operation, it was decided to change the ride experience. Tilt-a-Whirl was transformed into Linus' Beetle Bugs for the 2019 season to better fit the theme of Camp Snoopy.

​Top Thrill Dragster opened in 2003 as the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. Top thrill Dragster launched riders at speeds of 120 MPH up its huge 420 foot hill. Top Thrill Dragster was the first roller coaster in the world over 400 feet. This 17 second ride was a huge thrill for thrill-seekers.

​In 2024, Cedar Point opened the world's tallest and fastest triple-launch roller coaster! Top Thrill 2 launches rides at speeds of 74 MPH, 101 MPH, and 120 MPH! Top Thrill 2 is the tallest, and fastest roller coaster at Cedar Point!

Troika will spin and swoop its riders above the midway. Opening in 1976, Troika was moved to its current location in 2003; by the beach.

Tumble Bug opened at Cedar Point in 1934. The ride took riders in a circle and went up and down small hills. The ride was very popular when it opened. It was removed after the 1963 season due to age.

​Turnpike Cars was a ride in that  rides would drive around a track in small cars. The ride originally featured two tracks and was reduced to 1 in 1994.

Type: dive coaster

Valravn opened in 2016 as the world's tallest and fastest Dive Coaster. Riders dangle over the edge of this coaster 223 feet in the sky!

Valravn takes riders upside down 3 times.

Vertigo opened in August 2001 in the Challenge Park section of the park. Vertigo was a sling shot style ride that featured connecting seats that would tilt. The ride was removed because one of the towers collapsed during the winter. 

Waterin' Hole

               2017 as Waterin' Hole

Wave Swinger

The oldest existing swing ride at Cedar Point can be found in Frontier Town. Wave Swinger swings its riders an astounding 31 feet above the ground!

Western Cruise opened at Cedar Point in 1964. The ride took guests on a journey back into the days of the old west. The ride closed in 1986 and was moved to the Gemini Midway. It was renamed Paddlewheel Excursions for the 1987 season.

White Water Landing opened in 1982 in Frontier Town. White Water landing was the world's largest Hydro Flume that was ever built when it opened. It was considered Cedar Point's most themed ride. White Water landing was removed in 2005 to make room for Maverick.

New for 2023 is the Wild Mouse! Riders will spin 360 degrees on this family ride! Wild Mouse is a throw back to an old roller coaster Cedar Point had in the 1950's! Wild Mouse will be a great coaster for families!

WildCat was a mini coaster that featured small four passenger cars. WildCat featured a figure-eight style layout. The ride opened in 1979 and it was placed near Space Spiral. The ride was moved to the Million Dollar Midway for the 1985 season to make room for Avalanche Run. It closed in 2011 to make room for Celebration Plaza.

Wilderness Run

In 2014 Jr. Gemini's entrance was relocated into Camp Snoopy to make room for Pipe Scream. The ride was renamed and rethemed, Wilderness Run. Wilderness Run is Cedar Point's smallest roller coaster. Wilderness Run takes riders up 19 feet where they reach speeds of 6 MPH. Wilderness Run is a great first roller coaster for kids. ​​

WindSeeker

WindSeeker is a great thrill ride! Riders are taken up 301 feet and sun around at speeds of 30MPH! WindSeeker gives riders great views of Cedar Point, Sandusky and the Lake Erie Islands!

Witches' Wheel was added to Cedar Point in 1977. Witches' Wheel was an enterprise ride that flipped riders upside down. Witches' Wheel closed in 2018 due to age. 

Woodstock Express

Type: children's coaster

Woodstock Express opened in 1999 in the Camp Snoopy section of Cedar Point. It would be only the second kids coaster Cedar Point has in operation.

Woodstock Express takes riders up 38 feet. Riders reach speeds of 25 MPH as the ride completes its journey. Woodstock Express is a really fun ride!

Woodstock's Airmail

Frog Hopper was moved to Camp Snoopy in 2014. It was renamed and rethemed as Woodstock's Airmail. 

Join Snoopy and Woodstock to help them deliver mail! Riders are lifted up a tower and bounced back to the ground.
