Roto Whip

Roto Whip is a classic miniature whip that is located in Kiddy Kingdom at Cedar Point. 

It's not known exactly when Roto Whip opened at Cedar Point. 

In 1952 Cedar Point opened a new 10 ride Kiddieland. The new area was located to the left of the Coliseum, where the Sky Ride is today. 

Roto Whip was located in that Kiddieland. 

In 1960 Kiddieland was relocated to the other side of the coliseum where Kiddy Kingdom is today. Roto Whip was moved around this time. 

In 1970 Kiddieland was expanded to be the largest kids area in the world. In 1970 the rides that were previously located in the area were all slightly moved around so the area looked brand new. Roto Whip was then moved next to Krazy Kars. 

Roto Whip is a mini whip ride that was built by W.F. Mangles Company of Coney Island, New York.  There are a few of these rides remaining including versions at Kennywood and Hershey Park in PA. 

Roto Whip was relocated to its current location in 1986 to make room for Sir Rub-A-Dub's Tubs. 

Roto Whip is located in Kiddy Kingdom to the right of the Carousel. The ride is across from Sky Fighters. 

For decades, Roto Whip had a cover over the ride. This cover disappeared sometime in the 1990's. 

In 2019 a new canopy was built over the ride. 

In 1999 Cedar Point opened Camp Snoopy. With Camp Snoopy, they opened Peanuts 500. It is a larger whip ride.

Ride Experience

The entrance for Roto Whip is located on the back side of the ride. It is across from Sky Fighters. 

The line for Rotor Whip isn't normally very long. Riders are usually on within the next ride cycle. 

Riders are loaded into one of 8 cars. Each car holds 2 riders. Riders are held in place with a seatbelt. 

Roto Whip starts moving in a clockwise circle. 

Roto Whip moves at a pretty good speed, creating a thrill for its riders. 

Riders are whipped around as the ride moves. This whipping action causes the riders to laugh and giggle. 

Roto Whip is about a 2-minute ride. 

Guests love riding Roto Whip! It is a really fun ride!

Becoming a Classic

Roto Whip has been at Cedar Point for 55 years. 

Guests have come to love Roto Whip over the years. It has become a classic for many guests. This ride has been ridden by many generations of Cedar Point guests!  ​

Roto Whip is a very gentle ride, but it is one of the more exciting rides that can be found in Kiddy Kingdom. 

Over the years, Cedar Point has become known for its big rides like Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200, maXair, Power Tower and so much more. Those rides are for adults. Roto Whip does a really good job of providing thrills and fun ride experiences to kids. 

Riders must be able to walk independently and must be under 54 inches tall to ride Roto Whip.
