Wild Mouse is Cedar Point's newest family roller coaster! 

In 2015 Mantis was transformed from a Stand Up roller coaster to Cedar Point's first flourless roller coaster, Rougarou! Shoot the Rapids would close unexpectedly in 2015. Valravn began diving into Cedar Point in 2016. Later in 2016 Mean Streak would close. In 2017 Cedar Fair would get a new CEO, Richard Zimmerman. Soak City was rebranded onto Cedar Point Shores Waterpark in 2017. Steel Vengeance opened in 2018 as the tallest, fastest, and longest Hyper-Hybird Roller Coaster in the world. Dinosaur's Alive! would close in 2018 as well. In 2019 Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island would open as Cedar Point's new themed adventure area. In 2020 Cedar Point intended to celebrate its 150th anniversary, sadly it was delayed until 2021 due  to  the global pandemic. Cedar Point would celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2021. Cedar Point also got a new General Manager in 2021, Carrie Boldman. Snake River Expedition was a reimagining of a classic Cedar Point family ride that opened in 2021. Farmhouse would open in Frontier Town where it replaced the Antique Cars in 2022. 

On October 25, 2017, Cedar Point announced they were removing the Extreme Spots Stadium for future park expansion. The stadium was built in 1980 for the dolphin show. It was removed after the park closed for the 2017 season. 

In 2018 the site of the Extreme Sports Stadium became home to the all new Lakeside Stage. The new stage housed a nighttime show with a dance area. It would close at the end of the 2019 season. It was not used in 2020. In 2021 the area was home to a VIP area for the 150th anniversary.

On August 6, 2021 Cedar Point announced it was removing Wicked Twister from the park. The ride had given over 16 million rides in its time at Cedar Point. 

Wicked Twister had its final launch on Monday, September 6, 2021. The ride would have a very long line the entire day.  

During the fall of 2021 Cedar Point took the opportunity to remove small details of the ride like signage. They also removed ride parts that could be reused as well as the electrical system of the ride. 

The ride would be removed once the park closed for the season. 

By late February 2022 the entire ride was removed from Cedar Point. 

When Cedar Point opened for the 2022 season the site the housed the former Wicked Twister ride was blocked off to the public. 

As the summer went on the park would start placing teaser posters on the fence. 

You could even look over the fence and see the park building its next mystery construction project. 

On August 11, 2022 Cedar Point announced it was building The Boardwalk for the 2023 season. 

The Boardwalk would include Cedar Point's 18th roller coaster, Wild Mouse. Wild Mouse is a Zamperla freeform coaster. The ride is a modern take on a ride Cedar Point had from 1959-1963.

During the fall construction would begin on the new roller coaster. The park would pour the concrete pad that would be the foundation for Wild Mouse. 

After Cedar Point closed for the 2022 season the ride would start to rise.

Wild Mouse was built rather quickly. The track and supports were completely assembled by the end of November 2022, but the park had a lot of work left to get the ride open. 

Cedar Point used the rest of the winter to bring the new area to life.

On March 2, 2023, Cedar Point had released concept art and names for the cars on Wild Mouse. Each car has a different color and name. 

On March 17, 2023, it was revealed that the Wild Mouse cars were being put on the track. 

On April 5, 2023, Wild Mouse made its first test run. After the first test run the park would continue to test the ride all the way up to opening day. 

Wild Mouse would open during the afternoon on Saturday, May 5, 2023. 

Wild Mouse is located on the new Cedar Point Boardwalk. The ride is between the attractions on all the boardwalk. The ride gives you incredible views of the new midway and the beach.

Wild Mouse was built by Zamperla. Zamperla is a ride manufacturer from Italy. They have built 15 rides for Cedar Point over the years. Other Zamperla rides at Cedar Point include Balloon Race (1999), Camp Bus (1999), Charlie Brown's Wind Up (2014), Flying Ace Balloon Race (2008), Kite Eating Tree (2008), Lolli Swing (1999-2013), Peanuts 500 (1999), Peanuts Road Rally (2008), Pipe Scream (2014), Red Baron (1999), Snoopy's Deep Sea Divers (2008), Snoopy's Express Railroad (2008), Snoopy's Space Race (2008), and Woodstock's Whirlybirds (2008).

Wild Mouse is Cedar Point's 18th operating roller coaster. Since Cedar Point's first roller coaster in 1982, they have built 39 roller coasters. 

Wild Mouse is a Freeform coaster. It is a prototype roller coaster and Cedar Point opened the first one in the world. 

Wild Mouse is Cedar Point's 3rd family roller coaster. The other two family roller coasters are Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Iron Dragon. 

Wild Mouse is a great ride for families to experience together. The ride features a spinning twisting layout. 

Wild Mouse is also Cedar Point's first spinning roller coaster!

Riders laugh and giggle as they chase the other cars around the track.

Theming

Cedar Point themed their freeform roller coaster as a Wild Mouse. 

Wild Mouse is a name they reused from a roller coaster that Cedar Point had from 1959 to 1963. The new Wild Mouse does things that were impossible for the old Wild Mouse to do. 

Wild Mouse's entrance portal is a throw back to the original Wild Mouse's exit portal. 

In the Wild Mouse entrance plaza riders have a chance to get pictures with the mouse from the car that they rode in. 

The ride does have a special music soundtrack that plays in the station and when the ride goes up the lift hill. 

Ride Experience

The Wild Mouse ride experience begins as soon as riders go into the ride entrance plaza. Riders enter the ride plaza and walk under the Wild Mouse sign. 

The average wait time is between 10 minutes and 45 minutes. If the park is really busy the line could be up to an hour. 

There are a few shade structures over the line that help cool you off on hot days. The line does move really fast for this ride. 

Riders are quickly loaded into 1 of 7 cars. Wild Mouse features a continuously moving platform. 

Riders are held into Wild Mouse strictly with a lap bar. The ride does not have a seatbelt. 

Wild Mouse takes a sharp turn to the left and heads up the 52 foot tall lift hill. 

It takes 23 seconds for Wild Mouse to take riders up the hill,. 

Wild Mouse then turns to the left and goes down a drop. As the ride drops riders experience airtime. 

The cars start to spin on the drop. 

Wild Mouse then goes thru a series of switchbacks. They are very tight and the turns make the cars spin. 

Each end of the switchbacks has a set of block breaks. These help the ride run many trains so that many riders can enjoy the ride. 

Wild Mouse then drops its riders from the switchback and sends them spinning into the horseshoe element.

The horseshoe element gives riders a really good pop of airtime. 

Wild Mouse then takes riders into a downward helix. 

The helix is very fast, and riders spin the entire way thru it!

After the helix, riders went through a break run that slightly slows the train down. 

Wild Mouse then takes a banked U-Turn. When the ride goes thru the turn the cars are spinning like crazy! 

Riders on Wild Mouse then go spinning into the ride's final break run. 

Once the ride stops moving it spins until it is time for the train to return to the station. 

The train arrives back at the station and riders leave the train. 

The train will keep moving thru the station while you load and unload from the car. 

Riders then exit down the ramp into the rides exit plaza. The exit plaza is where you can get pictures of the different mice that each car is named after. 

A Good Fit for Cedar Point

Wild Mouse is a great addition to Cedar Point. It is a true coaster for the entire family. Wild Mouse was the first family roller coaster that opened at Cedar Point since Iron Dragon opened in 1987.

Families really love Wild Mouse. It gives them another fun ride to ride together. 

Wild Mouse is a natural fit for Cedar Point. The ride feels like it has always been there.

Wild Mouse is a great way for guests to experience what some of Cedar Point's iconic roller coasters were like. 

Wild Mouse gave Cedar Point a spinning roller coaster, an experience that Cedar Point guests had not had before. 

Wild Mouse was a great addition to Cedar Point. After Wild Mouse Cedar Point would continue to improve the park with: Top Thrill 2 (2023). 

Riders between 42 inches and 48 inches must be accompanied by a responsible person. Riders must be 48 inches tall to ride Wild Mouse alone.
