4x4's is a miniature car ride that is located in Kiddy Kingdom at Cedar Point.

4x4's opened in 1990.

To make room for 4x4's Cedar Point removed a miniature carousel. This would free up space for Cedar Point to add a new ride.
|
|
|
|
|
|
4x4's is located in the Kiddy Kingdom section of the park. The ride is between Motorcycles, Space Age, Mustangs, Rock, Spin & Turn, and the Kiddy Kingdom Carousel.

|
|
|
4x4's was built by Venture Mfg of Dayton, Ohio. They also built Sir Rub a Dub's Tub's.
|

4x4's is a ride that guests ride around a track in small trucks.

I had the chance to work the ride in 2020 when my full-time ride was not ready to open. It was a really cool experience to give kids their first experience "driving". In 2021 my contracted ride was Kiddy Kingdom. I also worked the ride for a few shifts in 2023.

Ride Experience
|

|
|
|
|
Riders are loaded into the small cars in the station. Each car holds up to 3 riders. The adults must ride in the back seat on this ride. Riders are held into place with a seatbelt.

|
|
|
|
|
4x4's is an eletric ride. The ride operator has to manually move the cars through the blocks in the station.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The ride system takes over and ''drives'' the trucks through the course once the truck hits the main track.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Riders are given the illusion that they are driving the cars themselves.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The ride goes through a beauty landscaped area. The area looks really nice.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The cars go around the course of the track once. It takes about two minutes.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Riders are unloaded once all the tucks arrive back on the platform.
|
|

Becoming a Classic
|

|
|
|
|
4x4's have been in Kiddy Kingdom for 35 years. This has made the ride a classic for its guests.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Guests love 4x4's. It gives kids their first experience riding rides.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
4x4's was a great addition to Cedar Point that will entertain guests for generations to come!
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Riders must be able to walk to ride 4x4's. Guests under 54 inches tall may accompany an adult to ride with them if they wish.
