White Water Landing
1982-2005
In 1972 Cedar Point added rides to entertain the entire family including Giant Wheel, Jumbo Jet, and Matterhorn. 1973 and 1974 saw general improvements at Cedar Point. Cedar Point Cinema opened in 1975. At that time it featured the world's largest Imax screen. In 1976 Cedar Point opened the triple-looping Corkscrew. Witches' Wheel opened in 1977. In 1978 Gemini began racing on the new Gemini Midway. The Gemini Midway would be expanded again in 1979 to include Gemini Children's Area. 1979 also saw the opening of WildCat and Wave Swinger. Oceania opened in 1980 featuring a dolphin show. In 1981 riders would begin to sail the high season on Ocean Motion. All these new actions were great, and Cedar Point had more coming in 1982.
White Water Landing was located in Frontier Town between the Cedar Point and Lake Eire Railroad's train station and Thunder Canyon. The ride sat on 5 acres.

White Water Landing was. built by Arrow Huss. Arrow would go under several different names over the years. In 1982, White Water Landing was the 11th ride that Arrow would build at Cedar Point. Over the years they would build: Turnpike Cars (1959-2014, Cadillac Cars (1960), Mill Race (1963), Earthquake (1965-1984), Shoot-the-rapids (1967-1981), Pirate Ride (1966-1996), Cedar Creek Mine Ride (1969), Antique Cars (1969-2021), Corkscrew (1976), and Gemini (1978). Arrow would later return to Cedar Point to build: Iron Dragon (1987), Magnum Xl-200 (1989), and Snake River Falls (1993).
After opening White Water Landing in 1983 Cedar Point would add more attractions that were designed to thrill and entertain the entire family. They Over the next 23 years they would add: Demon Drop (1983-2009), Avalanche Run (1985-1989), Thunder Canyon (1986), Iron Dragon (1987), Soak City Water Park(1988-2016), Magnum XL-200 (1989), Disaster Transport (1990-2012), Mean Streak (1991 - 2016), Challenge Park (1992-2016), Snake River Falls (1993), Raptor (1994), Mantis(1996-2014), Power Tower(1998), Camp Snoopy (1999), Millennium Force (2000), Wicked Twister (2002-2021), Top Thrill Dragster (2003-2021), and maXair (2005). All of these additions since helped balance out what Cedar Point had to offer.

Maverick opened on May 26, 2007. Maverick was the first roller coaster to open at Cedar Point since Top Thrill Dragster in 2003.
