Woodstock Express is a 38 foot tall family roller coaster located in the Camp Snoopy section of Cedar Point.

On Friday, November 13, 1998, Cedar Point announced it would open Camp Snoopy for the 1999 season. The new kids area would have 7 rides, a food stand, a new outdoor theater, and a new roller coaster.

​The area would be themed to the Peanuts franchise.

Woodstock Express opened on May 9, 1999 as the centerpiece to the park's new Camp Snoopy Children's roller coaster! In 1999, Woodstock Express was the 13th roller coaster for Cedar Point! Today it is the 9th oldest roller coaster in the park!

Woodstock Express is located in Camp Snoopy. The ride is between the lagoon and Peanuts 500.

Woodstock Express is 38 feet tall! It is one of 2 roller coasters designed to entertain children!

Theming

Woodstock Express is lightly themed to the Peanuts franchise. 

Woodstock Express is themed as Woodstock driving a train full of passengers. 

The coaster train has Woodstock on the front of it. It also has a bell inside it that the riders can ring. 

Ride Experience

The Woodstock Express ride experience begins when riders get in line. 

The line for Woodstock Express can be as short as 10 minutes, to as long as 45 minutes. The ride runs 1 train so the line can move very slowly sometimes. 

Riders are held into Woodstock Express with a seatbelt and a lap bar. 

The ride beings by leaving the station and turning right. 

Woodstock Express then lifts its riders up the lift hill. 

Woodstock Express lifts riders 38 feet into the sky. It doesn't take long to get to the top of this ride. 

Woodstock Express does not have a traditional chain lift. The train is lifted to the top of the ride using booster tires. The booster tires make the ride really smooth and really quiet. 

Woodstock Express leaves its lift hill with a curving drop. 

Woodstock Express features a bunch of baked turns that are taken at a moderate speed. The ride has decent pacing but it doesn't feel out of control. 

Woodstock Express reaches speeds of 25 MPH. The ride does get faster as the ride keeps going. 

Woodstock Express is a very smooth roller coaster. 

Woodstock Express is a very exciting ride. 

Woodstock Express is a really cool ride. It is the first roller coaster of a lot of kids over the last 25 years. 

Woodstock Express lasts about 1 minute from the time the train leaves the station until it hits the break run. 

Woodstock Express then slows down on the final break run and then comes into the station. 

Once the train comes back into the station the ride will come to a complete stop. The ride operators will then go around and let riders out. 

A Great Fit For Cedar Point 

Woodstock Express was a really good ride for Cedar Point. By 1999 it had been 20 years since the last kids roller coaster was added to Cedar Point. 

Families fell in love with Woodstock Express. It is a great stepping stone roller coaster. It is more exciting than Wilderness Run, but it's not as thrilling as Wild Mouse. 

Woodstock Express filled a huge gap in the park's line up when it opened. The Roller Coaster Capital of the World needs to have rides for everyone in the family. 

Woodstock Express is a really fun ride. 

After adding Camp Snoopy in 1999 Cedar Point added: Millennium Force (2000), Lighthouse Point (2001), Wicked Twister (2002-2021), Top Thrill Dragster (2003-2021) maXair (2005), Skyhawk (2006), Maverick (2007), Planet Snoopy (2008), Shoot the Rapids (2010-2015), WindSeeker (2011), Dinosaurs Alive! on Adventure Island (2012-2018), GateKeeper (2013), New Gemini Midway (2014), Rougarou (2015), Valravn (2016), Cedar Point Shores Water Park (2017), Steel Vengeance (2018), Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island (2019-2022), Cedar Point's 150th Anniversary Celebration (2021), The Boardwalk (2023), and Top Thrill 2 (2024).

​All of these new additions have helped balance out the park and make Cedar Point a special place for families and thrill seekers to enjoy. 

Woodstock Express is still a great ride for the entire family to ride together 25 years after it first opened. 

Riders must be 48 inches tall to ride Woodstock Express alone. Riders between 36 inches and 48 inches tall must be accompanied by a responsible person.
