Wave Swinger is a swing ride that is located in Frontiertown at Cedar Point.
Wave Swinger is a classic amusement park ride. It can be found in parks all around the world.
The 1960's saw a lot of expansion for Cedar Point. That expansion would continue into the 1970's with the addition of Million Dollar Midway in 1970. Million Dollar Midway opened giving guest more rides to make lines shorter. In 1971 guest were sent back to the past with the opening of Frontier Trail. Giant Wheel opened in 1972. In 1975 Cedar Point Cinema opened featuring Imax movies!. Corkscrew became the first roller coaster in the world to flip rides upside down 3 times in 1976 on its new midway. In 1977 the Corkscrew Midway was expanded. Gemini became the world's tallest roller coaster in the world in 1978.
1979 was a big expansion year for Cedar Point. On the Beach, the park added a new WildCat that replaced the old one and it was relocated to Jumbo Jets location to make room for future expansion.
On the Gemini Midway, Gemini Children's area made its grand debut. The area included Jr. Gemini. Jr. Gemini would be the first roller coaster in the world to be built by Intamin. Intamin would return to the park to build some of the park's biggest roller coasters. Wave Swinger opened in Frontiertown to add something else for guest to do in that area. |

After Cedar Point opened Wave Swinger in 1979, Cedar Point would continue to add rides and attractions that would bring something for everyone to enjoy including 18 roller coasters. All of these new attractions have added something new to the park. They are part of what has made Cedar Point the ultimate thrill park that it is today! |
