Cadillac Cars

Cadillac Cars are old fashioned cars that guest can drive around on a track. 

The 1940's and 1950's was a really bad time for Cedar Point. The resort was losing money and couldn't do regular maintenance because of the lack of money. In 1956, Cedar Point was bought by George Roos and Emile Legross. Their plans were to demolish the resort and replace it with a housing development. 

The housing development wasn't popular with the general public at all. It started a storm of complaints all across northern Ohio. People even went all the way to the state congress to try to keep the park open. George Roose and Emile Legroos began studying Cedar Point's operations for nearly two years. They developed a plan to turn Cedar Point into ''The Disneyland of the Midwest".

The first attraction they added to the new Cedar Point was the Cadillac Cars. The ride was placed on the Main Midway. 

Cadillac Cars takes guest on a journey down a winding path. Riders drive on a quarter mile road thru landscaping and over a covered bridge. 

Cadillac Cars was the first ride at Cedar Point to be built and designed by Arrow Dynamics. Arrow had built rides for dozens of parks over the years, including most of the original rides at Disneyland. Over the years Cedar Point and Arrow Dynamics would build some of the most unique rides on the planet.  Arrow Dynamics would return to Cedar Point to build: Turnpike Cars (1959-2014), Mill Race (1963-1993), Shoot-the-Rapids (1967-1981), Cedar Creek Mine Ride (1969), Antique Cars (1969), Corkscrew (1976), Gemini (1978), White Water Landing (1982-2005), Iron Dragon (1987), Magnum XL-200 (1989), and Snake River Falls (1993).

Cadillac Cars is a ride that the entire family can ride together! 

The Cars are 2/3 scale repeals of 1910 Cadillac's touring cars. 

Cadillac Cars is a very cool ride experience! 

Theming 

Cadillac Cars has some nostalgic theming. It featured billboards and a covered bridge. The ride is in a wooded setting. There are trees all around the rides course. 

Ride Expereince 

The Cadillac Cars ride experience begins with guest getting in line for the ride. The line is located in the station under the ride sign on the Main Midway. 

The longest was time for Cadillac Cars is 10 minutes. The line keeps moving for this ride. 

The station is really small for the ride. It holds up to 6 cars at at time. There are bill boards in the station for guest to look at. Guest stand on their circle and wait for their car to arrive. 

Each Car holds up to 4 people. They are held into place with a seatbelt. 

Cadillac Cars has 21 different cars. 

On Cadillac Cars riders control when the car is moving. They can drive their car down the path. There is a guide rail to keep the car on the path. 

Riders push the pedal down to make the car go, and they  lift their foot to make the car stop. 

Cadillac Cars is a 3-4 minute ride. It is a great experience for guest to enjoy. 

Guest love Cadillac Cars! It was so popular that Turnpike Cars (1959-2014) and Antique Cars (1969) were added just to keep up with capacity. 

Cadillac Cars was very popular at Cedar Point. It started an era of expansion that continues to this day. Cadillac Cars is a really fun ride for the entire family. Everyone will have fun on this ride. Over the years, Cadillac Cars have become a classic ride. 

Everyone can ride Cadillac Cars. You must be at least 48 inches tall to drive the car.
