Red Baron

Red Baron is a Zamperla mini jet ride that is located in Camp Snoopy at Cedar Point. 

On Friday, November 13, 1998, Cedar Point announced it would open Camp Snoopy for the 1999 season. The new kids area would have 7 rides, a food stand, a new outdoor theater, and a new roller coaster.

​The area would be themed to the Peanuts franchise. 

Red Baron opened on Sunday, May 9, 1999.

Red Baron is located in Camp Snoopy between Camp Bus and Woodstock Express. 

Red Baron is a mini jet ride that was built by Zamperla. Zamperla is known for making quality kids rides. 

Red Baron is one of 2 rides in Camp Snoopy that is only for little kids. The other ride is Woodstock's Airmail. 

Red Baron is an updated and themed version of Sky Fighters that is located in Kiddy Kingdom. Sky Fighters has been at Cedar Point for a very long time.

Red Baron is a great ride for kids. They really love this ride. 

Theming

Red Baron is a lightly-themed ride. The ride is themed to Snoopy that is a flying ace trying to fly airplanes. 

The ride has red and white planes. 

Red Barron is a really cool ride. It has a great location that over looks the Cedar Point lagoon. 

Ride Expereince

The Red Baron ride experience begins with guests getting in line for the ride. 

The line is located directly to the right of the ride. 

The average wait time for Red Baron is 5-10 minutes. This ride usually doesn't get that busy due to it being a kids ride. 

Riders are loaded into small World War 2-style airplanes. Each plane holds 2 riders, 1 in each row. Riders are held in place with a seatbelt. 

Red Baron starts and riders are able to drive their airplanes. 

Riders are able to use the stick in their plane to decide how big they go. The ride operator can make all the planes go up if the riders are too little to figure out how to make the plane go up. 

Riders can make the plane go up and down as they would like to create a custom ride experience. 

Riders fly about 10 feet into the air on Red Baron. Riders get a great view of the lagoon and Camp Snoopy. 

Kids love riding Red Baron. They laugh and giggle as they ride this ride. 

Red Baron's ride cycle lasts about 3 minutes. 

At the end of the ride cycle, the airplanes land on their own. 

The ride operator goes around and helps the kids out once all the airplanes have landed. 

A Good Fit For Cedar Point 

Red Baron was a great addition to Cedar Point. It gave kids a new ride. 

After 1979 Cedar Point didn't see another kids-only ride until Bumper Boats opened in 1993. This would be followed by Frog Hopper in 1998. In 1999 Camp Snoopy would include two kids-only rides. Red Baron and Snoopy Bounce were two rides that Cedar Point really needed to give the little kids something new to enjoy. 

When Red Baron opened in 1999 it was a new experience for kids. Today it is part of the classic Cedar Point experience for kids. 

Kids love riding Red Baron. Over the years it has been a first ride for a lot of kids. 

Riders must be between 36 and 54  inches tall to ride Red Baron.
