Peanuts 500 is a Zamperla Speedway.

On Friday, November 13, 1998, Cedar Point announced it would open Camp Snoopy for the 1999 season. The new kids area would have 7 rides, a food stand, a new outdoor theater, and a new roller coaster.
The area would be themed to the Peanuts franchise. |

Peanuts 500 opened on Sunday, May 9, 1999.

|
|
|
|
Peanuts 500 is located between Woodstock Express and Beagle Bay Outfitters. It is the first ride that guests coming into that side of Camp Snoopy see.

Peanuts 500 is a speedway ride that was built by Zamperla. Zamperla is known for making quality kids rides.

There is a very similar ride to Peanuts 500 in Kiddy Kingdom named Roto Whip The ride has been at Cedar Point for decades. Roto Whip does not have a theme.

Ride Experience

The Peanuts 500 ride experience begins when riders get in line for the ride.

The line for Peanuts 500 is located directly to the right of the ride.

The average wait time for Peanuts 500 is 5 to 10 minutes. If the park is really busy riders can expect to wait 20 minutes.

Riders are loaded into 1 of 8 race cars. Each car holds 2 riders. Each rider has their own seatbelt.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The cars are arranged around an oval. The ride started moving in a counterclockwise motion.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The ride moves at a pretty good speed, making Peanuts 500 a very cool and exciting ride.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Riders are whipped in a quick motion when they go around the corners. The whipping action makes this ride more exciting.

Riders laugh and giggle on Peanuts 500. It is a really fun experience.

Becoming A Family Favorite

Peanuts 500 is a very exciting ride. It is more exciting than the rides in Kiddy Kingdom, but it isn't as intense as rides like Monster, Lake Erie Eagles, Wave Swinger, and Monster.

Knott's Berry Farm opened the first Camp Snoopy in 1983. In 1992 the area was expanded to include Charlie Brown's Speedway. The ride was very popular. When Cedar Point opened Camp Snoopy in 1999 it was natural that they added the ride at Cedar Point. The ride would be featured in several of the other Camp and Planet Snoopy's at the other Cedar Fair parks.

Riders must be 36 inches tall to ride Peanuts 500 alone. Riders less than 36 inches tall can ride with a supervising companion. Hand-held infants are not allowed on this ride.
