Super Himalaya is a spinning family ride that is located between Corkscrew and Power Tower. 

Super Himalaya opened in 1970 as Himalaya. 

In the 1960's Cedar Point was adding attractions that would grow its collection. In 1962 guest could see the sights without ever riding a roller coaster when Sky Ride opened in the Main Midway.  1963 brought the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad as well as The Mill Race. Mill Race was only the second Log Flume ride that was ever built. The ever-popular Blue Streak(1964)  was the first major roller coaster to open at Cedar Point since 1929. Space Spiral became the tallest ride in the world when it opened in 1965. In 1966 Cedar Point opened Pirate Ride. Pirate Ride was a dark ride that took guest back in time to when pirates ransacked the high seas. Frontiertown opened in 1967. In 1968 SkySlide opened just off the Main Midway. In 1969, Cedar Point added its next roller coaster, Cedar Creek Mine Ride. 

1970 was a huge year for Cedar Point. 1970 was the year Cedar Point celebrated it's 100th anniversary and it would do it in a really big way. 

In the Marnia Cedar Point added Pet Check, a pet sitting service. 

Near the Front of the park Cedar Point added The Centennial Theatre, Calypso,  and Hofbrau Gardens. 

​Kiddieland was expanded to double its size. It was advertised as the largest in the world. 

On the Beach Cedar Point added the WildCat Roller Coaster and the Sealand attraction. 

The train station was moved back to make way for a new midway. The new midway was called Million Dollar Midway. Million Dollar Midway was home to: Bayern Kurve, Dodgem 2, Himalaya, Monster and Tiki Twirl. The Western Cruise's station was also relocated here and Paddlewheel Cafe opened. 

50 years later: All of these attractions have been relocated or removed. 3 of them remain with the same theme they had then.

Himalaya opened just off the Main Midway. The ride was located between the Marina  Gate and Dodgem 2 ride. The ride would remain there until the end of the 1974 season. 

The ride was temporary removed from the park and placed in storage from 1975-1977.

For the 1978 season, Himalya came out of storage.  The ride was located between Jumbo Jet and Matterhorn by Space Spiral. The ride was then rammed Super Himalaya. 

In 1979, Super Himalaya was moved to the other side of the Beach Midway where the former WildCat was to make room for the new WildCat. 

In 1980 Cedar Point opened Oceana. To make room for Oceana Cedar Point relocated Super Himmaya across for Gemini. The ride would remain in this location for the next 18 years. 

In 1999 Super Himalya was relocated once again to make room for Camp Snoopy. This time the ride was relocated to an area between Power Tower an Corkscrew. 

Super Himalaya is located in a section of the park that has bigger rides. It gives families that have kids that aren't quite big enough. All of the rides on the Corkscrew Midway require you to be either 48 inches or 52 inches except Super Himalaya.

Super Himalaya was built by Mack Rides. Mack Rides built other rides for Cedar Point including: Tiki Twirl, Calypso, Matterhorn and Schwabichen. 

Ride Experience

Super Himalaya's ride experience begins with the rides entrance. The Super Himalaya entrance is to the left of the ride. 

The average line for Super Himalaya is 3-5 minuets. Often the ride is a walk on, but it barely has a wait. 

Riders are loaded into small cars. Each car can fit two adults  or two adults and a small child pretty confterably. 

Super Himalaya  starts out by spinning clockwise in a circle. 

As the ride goes fasters riders are puled to the center of the ride. The ride goes up and down over small hills. 

Super Himalaya is a great family ride! It is sure to make everyone  laugh and giggle! 

​Super Himalaya is a classic amusement park ride. There have been dozens of these made over the years and the ride can be found in many parks. 

Super Himalaya plays Rock and Hip Hop Music for guest to play. This ride is sure to entertain even the people who don't wish to ride. 

Super Himalaya is covered in hundreds of nights! These lights make the ride light up the entire midway! It creates a huge speculate slight for everyone walking by!

Super Himalaya has been a very popular ride since it opened!  2020 is the 50th Anniversary of  when the ride first opened at Cedar Point. 

After Super Himalaya opened in 1970, Cedar Point would add things that would bring something for the entire family to do including 23 roller coasters. All of these new attractions have given Cedar Point something new for guest to experience. 

Super Himalaya is a great ride that families love riding together! 

Riders must be 52 inches tall to ride alone. Riders under 52 inches must be accompanied by an adult. Held held infants are prohibited from riding this ride.
