WindSeeker is Cedar Point's giant swing ride that is located on the beach. The ride opened in 2011.
In 2000 Cedar Point opened Millennium Force. Millennium Force was the first roller coaster in the world over 300 feet when it opened in May of 2000. In 2002 Cedar Point added Wicked Twister on the beach. 2003 saw Top Thrill Dragster become the first roller coaster in the world over 400 feet. In 2005 maXair opened near Kiddy Kingdom adding a the first thrill ride at Cedar Point in several years. In 2006 Skyhawk started swinging guest in Frontiertown. In 2007, Maverick became the first roller coaster added to Cedar Point since 2003. In 2008 Planet Snoopy became the park's newest kids area. Shoot the Rapids opened in 2010 as Cedar Point's newest attraction. With all these new additions, 2011 would bring another great ride!
On August 24, 2010, Cedar Point announced it was going to build WindSeeker for the 2011 season.
WindSeeker would be located on the beach in the former spot of Ocean Motion and the Beach Gate. |
On October 31, 2010, Cedar Point would close for the season. Ocean Motion closed with the park that day.

After Cedar Point closed for the 2010 season on October 31, 2010, Cedar Point began to take down Ocean Motion. At that point, the ride was taken apart carefully so it could be refreshed so the ride could be relocated.
On November 8, 2010, Cedar Point announced that Ocean Motion would be receive more theme and be relocated to the former Demon Drop location in the front of the park.

Once the bottom piece for WindSeeker was in place, the ride quickly grew into the sky!
WindSeeker was built by Mondial of the Netherlands. So far WindSeeker is the only ride built at Cedar Point by Mondial.

The average wait time for WindSeeker is 5-10 minuets. The ride rarly has a line over 20 miuites.

In 2011, Cedar Fair added WindSeeker rides at Cedar Point, Kings Island, Knotts Berry Farm and Canada's Wonderland. They are all the same ride and costed 5 million dollars each!
WindSeeker is 1 of 5 rides at Cedar Point that reach 300 feet in the air! The other rides are Millennium Force, Power Tower and SlingShot! When Space Spiral was at the park (1965 - 2012) It was also over 300 feet! Top Thrill Dragster takes riders over 400 feet!

After WindSeeker, Cedar Point continued to add attractions to balance out its offerings. Cedar Point would add: Dinosaur's Alive! on Adventure Island (2012-2018), Gatekeeper (2013), New Gemini Midway (2013), Rougarou (2015), Valravn (2016), Cedar Point Shores Water Park (2017), Steel Vengeance (2018), Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island (2019), and Cedar Point's 100th Anniversary Celebration (2021). All of these new additions have helped round out Cedar Point's offerings.
