Over the years Cedar Point as had many records. Cedar Point has also but many first of their kind attractions. Records are meant to be broken, but no one can take the title of world's first. These records are part of what has made Cedar Point the place it is today!

In 1976 Corkscrew became the first roller coaster at Cedar Point to go upside down 3 times! The ride brought another new midway to the park.

1978
Gemini opened on June 17, 1978 as the tallest and fastest racing roller coaster in the world. It was placed on the new Gemini Midway. Gemini Midway connected the Corkscrew Midway to Frontietown.

1982
White Water Landing opened in 1982. White Water landing was a Hydro Flume that was located in Frontier Town. Riders were taken high into the tree top and treated to a 45 foot plunge. The ride closed in 2005 and was replaced with Maverick.

In 1989 Cedar Point stunned the roller coaster world when it opened Magnum Xl-200. Magnum XL-200 was the first Hyper Coaster ever built.

Mean Streak was a wooden roller coaster that opened in 1991. When Mean Streak opened, it gave Cedar Point two of the tallest roller coasters in the world.

Snake River Falls is an 83 foot tall water ride that opened in 1993.

Park Records -Cedar Point's 4th water ride. This is the most the park ever had at once. Mill Race closed to begin demolition later that summer. -Cedar Point's tallest water ride. |

Raptor was the first project to dramatically change the look of the park's Main Midway when it opened in 1994. Raptor is an inverted roller coaster.

Mantis opened in 1996 as Cedar Point's Stand Up Roller Coaster. The ride took riders upside down 4 times. Mantis was converted to the floorless Rougarou in 2015.

Millennium Force took riders to new heights when it opened in May of 2000. The ride was so big, it created a new classification of Roller Coaster.

GateKeeper is a Wing Coaster that is located at the front of the park. Riders simulate the feeling of flying on the wings of a plane on this ride.

Rougarou is a Floorless Roller Coaster that opened in 2015. Rougarou began its life in 1996 as Mantis. For the 2015 it became Rougarou.

Valravn became Cedar Point's Dive Coaster when it opened in 2016. Riders dive from the rides 223 foot tall lift hill towards the Main Midway.

Starting in 2011 Rocky Mountain Construction took the roller coaster world by storm! They turned outdated and unpopular roller coasters into some of the best roller coasters in the world. For the 2018 season, Cedar Point reimagined the 1991 Mean Streak into Steel Vengeance.
