Lake Erie Eagles is a classic family ride, modeled after the iconic Flying Scooters, offering fun for all ages

After Top Thrill Dragster opened at Cedar Point, the park began adding a variety of new attractions. In 2005, Cedar Point introduced maXair, a 140-foot-tall swinging pendulum ride. The following year, Skyhawk opened as the world’s tallest swing ride. In 2007, the roller coaster Maverick debuted in Frontier Town.

In 2008, Planet Snoopy was relocated to the park from Geauga Lake. Shoot the Rapids opened in 2010 as the park’s modern log flume ride. In 2011, riders soared 301 feet above the beach on WindSeeker. The attraction Dinosaurs Alive! opened on Adventure Island in 2012.

In 2013, GateKeeper debuted, flying over the park’s newly redesigned front gate. With all of these impressive additions and changes, 2014 would bring yet another new chapter for the park.

On August 27, 2013, Cedar Point announced the redevelopment of the Gemini Midway. The project included a full redesign of the area, the addition of two new rides, and new options for guests to purchase drinks and frozen yogurt.

Lake Erie Eagles officially opened to the public on Saturday, May 10, 2014.

Lake Erie Eagles is located on the Gemini Midway, situated between Gemini and Pipe Scream.

Lake Erie Eagles replaced the Bumper Boats, which were originally located in Kiddy Kingdom before being relocated to the Gemini Children’s Area in 1998. The ride closed in 2013 to make way for Lake Erie Eagles.

Lake Erie Eagles, built by Larson, is the only ride in the park manufactured by the company. It is a modern take on the classic Flying Scooters ride, a model that dates back to the early 1930s.

Cedar Point originally operated an early version of this ride, Flying Scooters, which opened in 1944 and remained in operation until 1960. It was located on the Main Midway, on the site where the Jack Aldrich Theatre stands today.

Since its introduction, the Flying Scooters ride model has remained a popular attraction and has been installed in numerous amusement parks over the years

The Lake Erie Eagles ride experience begins as guests enter the queue, which is located directly to the left of the ride.

The average wait time for Lake Erie Eagles is 10–15 minutes, though it can reach up to 30 minutes during peak park attendance.

Riders are assigned to one of eight eagles, with each vehicle accommodating up to two guests.

Riders are secured in their seats with a seatbelt.

Lake Erie Eagles begins as riders spin in a counter-clockwise circle.

As the ride spins, riders begin to lift into the air.

Lake Erie Eagles lifts riders to a height of 28 feet, giving them a bird’s-eye view of the Gemini Midway.

Lake Erie Eagles features a paddle in each ride vehicle that riders can move left and right to swing the cars from side to side.

All of these new additions have helped make Cedar Point an even better destination.
