Schwabinchen was a Mack Rides Hully Gully ride. The ride was very common at parks in the 1970's and 1980's.

The 1960's was a huge expansion era for Cedar Point. The 1960's brought some of Cedar Point's most beloved attractions. In 1962 Sky Ride opened above the Main Midway. In 1963 Mill Race opened as the second Log Flume ride in the world. Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad also began taking riders into the woods in 1963. In 1964 Blue Streak opened. Blue Streak is Cedar Point's oldest existing roller coaster. Space Spiral was the first ride in the world to stand over 300 feet when it opened in 1965. In 1966 Pirate Ride was moved to Cedar Point from Freedomland in New York. Frontiertown opened in 1969 as Cedar Point's first themed area. In 1968 Sky Slide opened near the Main Midway. Frontiertown was expanded in 1969 to include Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Antique Cars.

In 1970 Cedar Point celebrated its first 100 years of operations. As part of the celebration Cedar Point added the Million Dollar Midway.

Schwabinchen was located near the end of the Million Dollar Midway between Bayern Kurve and the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad's train station.

Schwabinchen was a Mack Rides Holly Gully ride. The ride was a very common ride that was found in many amusement parks during the 1970's.

In 1985 Cedar Point opened Avalanche Run. To make room for Avalanche Run Cedar Point would need to move WildCat to a new location.
|
|
|
|
|
|
WildCat would be relocated in 1985 to the Million Dollar Midway. The ride was placed at the location that housed Schwabinchen and Bayern Kurve. At the end of the 1984 season Bayern Kurve was relocated to Valleyfair. WildCat was removed from Cedar Point in May 2011.

Rotor was also removed from Cedar Point and sent to Valleyfair. The ride would never reopen there.

Schwabinchen was relocated to the Beach Midway where it would blend in with the historic coliseum.

Schwabinchen was a really fun family ride. The ride had a German theme to it.

|
|
Riding Schwabinchen was like sitting in a seat on the out side of a flattened cone. The rode would tilt and spin on a tilted platform.

After adding the Million Dollar Midway in 1970 Cedar Point would add: Frontier Trail (1971), Giant Wheel (1972), Jumbo Jet (1972), Matterhorn (1972), Cedar Point Cinema (1975-2001), Corkscrew (1976), Troika (1976), Witches' Wheel (1977-2018), Gemini (1978), Gemini Children's Area (1979-2013), Wave Swinger (1979), WildCat (1979-2011), Oceania (1980-1997), Ocean Motion (1981), White Water Landing (1982-2005), Kid Arthur's Court (1982-1999), Demon Drop (1983-2009), Avalanche Run (1985-1989), Thunder Canyon (1986), Iron Dragon (1987), Soak City Water Park (1988-2016), Magnum XL-200 (1989), Disaster Transport (1990-2012), Mean Streak (1991-2016), Challenge Park (1992-2016), Snake River Falls (1993-2024), Raptor (1994), Cedar Point's 125th Anniversary Celebration (1995), Mantis (1996-2014), Chaos (1997-2010), Power Tower (1998), Camp Snoopy (1999), Millennium Force (2000), and Wicked Twister (2002-2021). All these new attractions added something to Cedar Point it did not have before.

On October 22, 2002, Cedar Point announced it was removing Schwabinchen. The ride closed on Sunday, October 27, 2002.
|

|
The ride was sold to Strikers Grove, a small amusement park in Ross, Ohio. The ride was never reassembled because it was in poor shape.
|
|
|
Today the ride is remembered with a tombstone inside the rides cemetery for Halloweekends.
|
|
|
|
|
In 2003 Schwabinchen was replaced with Chaos. Chaos would remain in this location until it was removed at the end of the 2010 season.
|

|
|
|
|
|
In 2011 Chaos was replaced with a 3 Point Challenge.
|
|
|
|
