Swan Boats
1997-2003

Swan Boats was a family that opened in 1997 at Cedar Point.

Swan Boats was located in a small pond in Frontier Town. Swan Boats was located between Thunder Canyon, Snake River Falls, White Water Landing, and Wave Swinger. 

Riders would float around in small boats that were shaped like swans. Riders had complete control of where the boats went and they would have to paddle the boats with their feet.

Guests would often get stuck in the pond.

The Swan Boats was a very low-capacity ride. Riders could stay in the swan for as long as they liked, resulting in long lines. Swan Boats closed in 2003. 

In 2004 the Swan Boats were relocated to Michigan's Adventure. The ride is still in operation there to this day. The pond at Cedar Point would remain empty for a few years. 

On Sunday, October 30, 2005, Cedar Point closed White Water Landing. The ride was completely removed from Cedar Point before the park opened for the 2005 season. 

During the spring of 2006, construction crews poured footers in the former Swan Boats pond. 

In 2007 Cedar Point opened its 17th roller coaster, Maverick! Maverick goes over the pond that was once home to the Swan Boats.
