5th Anniversary (2016)Valravn opened at Cedar Point in 2016. Valravn broke 10 world records when it opened. It was the tallest, fastest, longest Dive Coaster in the world. Valravn flips riders upside down 3 times! At the exit of Valravn you will find Valravn Gifts, the store for Valravn! 3 Point Challenge was also relocated from its location next to Ocean Motion to in front of Chickie's and Pete's. In 2016 Cedar Point amped up its Guest Services with several new additions including: a new Marina Gate, WiFi through the park, an all season drink plan, several new drink stands, and the Ride Warriors Club! Dodgem received new bumper cars. Tiki Twirl was also repainted to look even better! 10th Anniversary (2011)In 2011 Cedar Point opened WindSeeker! WindSeeker takes riders up 301 feet and reaches speeds of 30 MPH. WindSeeker is a giant swing. To make room for WindSeeker, the Beach Gate was rebuilt. Ocean Motion was relocated to the front of the park to make room for WindSeeker. The ride received a new pond and more landscaping. 15h Anniversary (2006)In 2006 Cedar Point Skyhawk. Skyhawk was the largest ride of its kind when it opened. Riders swing 125 feet into the air at speeds of 60 MPH. The area around Skyhawk also got a facelift. New lighting was added and Town Hall was painted. 20th Anniversary (2001)Lighthouse Point Resort opened at Cedar Point in 2001. The area featured cabins and cottages for guests to stay in. They could also bring their RV if they preferred. Johnny Rockets opened on the Main Midway. Vertigo would fling riders into the air in Challenge Park. 25th Anniversary (1996)Mantis opened in 1996. Mantis was Cedar Point's Stand Up Roller Coaster. The ride also had the most inversions on any Stand Up Roller Coaster in the world. The ride was close in 2014 to be converted into the Floorless Coaster, Rougarou. RipCord. RipCord opened in Challenge Park. RipCord was Cedar Point's sky coaster. 30th Anniversary (1991)Mean Streak opened at Cedar Point in 1991. It was the tallest, and fastest wooden roller coaster built when the ride opened. Mean Streak crossed over and under itself 9 times. Mean Streak had a beautiful structure. Mean Streak took riders up 161 feet and reached speeds of 65MPH. Over the years the ride became really rough. It closed in 2016 and was converted into Steel Vengeance. 35th Anniversary (1986)Thunder Canyon opened at Cedar Point in 1986 on the Frontier Trail. Thunder Canyon simulates what it is like to go river rafting. The ride takes riders on a 1,600 foot long journey. Thunder Canyon gets its water from Lake Erie, the water is socked and treated daily for the ride. Sir-Rub-A-Dub's Tubs opened in Kiddieland. It was a small water ride that riders would float down a small channel. The ride was removed at the end of the 2014 season. 40th Anniversary (1981)In 1981 Cedar Point opened a new family thill ride, Ocean Motion. Ocean Motion swings riders 65 feet into the air! The ride was located near the Beach Gate. In 2011 the ride was relocated to the Front Gate to make room for WindSeeker. 45th Anniversary (1976)In 1976 Cedar Point opened Corkscrew. Corkscrew was so big, a new midway was built around the ride. To make room for the new midway, Jungle Larry's Safari Island was rebuilt within the midway. The attraction was also renamed Jungle Larry's African Safari. Corkscrew was Cedar Point's first record breaking roller coaster in the world when it opened. Corkscrew was the first roller coaster in the world to go upside down 3 times. The ride was very innovative when it opened. Corkscrew was also the first roller coaster to go upside down over a midway. To give guests something else to do Cedar Point added Troika, a family friendly thrilling ride to the new Corkscrew Midway. Troika was built by Huss. Addington Grist Mill would welcome its guests for the first time in 1976 on the Frontier Trail. 50th Anniversary (1971)In 1971 Cedar Point opened the Frontier Trail. Frontier Trail featured rustic cabins that took guest back to the past. Frontier Trail featured live actors. Today it is home to Millennium Force and Thunder Canyon. 55th Anniversary (1966)In 1966 Pirate Ride was relocated to Cedar Point. Pirate Ride was a dark ride that came from Freedomland in New York. Riders were taken on a journey to experience what it was like to be a pirate. The ride was great for families. It closed at the end of the 1996 season. Today the space is used as a haunted house. 60th Anniversary (1961)In 1961 Cedar Point added a number of additions to appeal more towards families. The Rotor began spinning rides on the Main Midway. Sky Wheel and the Satellite Jets opened in the middle of the midway. Cedar Classic Miniature Golf was built near Kiddieland. 65th Anniversary (1956)75th Anniversary (1946)
